M.A. Monika Szmigielska from the Projects Department and M.A. Eng. Wojciech Maćkowski from the IT Department participated in Erasmus+ staff mobility for training at the partner institution - Aalto University in Espoo (Finland).
The aim of the visit was to improve qualifications, exchange knowledge and experience, and to improve language skills.
On the first day, representatives of the IT team presented information about the work of the department, systems, tools used in the daily work of lecturers, administration and students, innovations introduced to improve their daily work, as well as implemented projects.
In the following days, representatives of the Fire Academy participated in Erasmus+ Staff Training Days, where they gained insight into examples of international and intercultural cooperation between universities. The event was attended by representatives of universities from Austria, Sweden, Romania, Norway, Italy, the Czech Republic, France, Germany and Poland. Workshop participants had also the opportunity to tour the campus, learning about the history of the university. Special emphasis was placed on the architectural details designed by one of the most famous modernist architects in Finland - Alvar Aalto. The workshops created a space for discussion on the challenges which European universities most often face.
Participation in the Erasmus+ program was an excellent opportunity to establish contacts, exchange experiences and identify common areas for cooperation with European universities in the future. The opportunity to improve language skills and learn about the culture and traditions of Finland was also important.
