On April 9, the Fire University in Poland hosted a delegation from the Hamburg Fire Service Academy (Germany). The visit marked another stage in the long-standing cooperation between our institutions, which has been ongoing for over 20 years.

During their stay, the guests became acquainted with the structure and educational system for future officers of the State Fire Service, as well as the role of the Fire University in the civil protection and civil defence system. They also had the opportunity to learn about the functioning of the National Firefighting and Rescue System and explore the latest technologies used in rescue and firefighting operations.

A key point of the visit was the meeting at the Fire University's Rescue and Firefighting Unit, where the delegation had the chance to see the modern equipment used by our firefighters in real operational scenarios.

Afterward, the representatives of the Hamburg Fire Service Academy visited the Rescue Training Centre of the Fire University in Nowy Dwór Mazowiecki. There, they observed field training sessions carried out as part of the cadet service and participated in discussions about the future development of the training centre and potential directions for joint training initiatives.

The visit was not only an excellent opportunity to exchange experiences and best practices but also to further expand international cooperation, including within the framework of the Erasmus+ programme.

The day before, the German delegation also visited Fire and Rescue Unit No. 6 of the State Fire Service in Warsaw. During this visit, they learned about the specialized equipment used in chemical and ecological rescue operations, including mobile laboratories and decontamination vehicles. The meeting provided an opportunity to share knowledge and experience related to responding to chemical and environmental threats.
