On June 10–11, 2025, the Fire University hosted an eight-person delegation from Rescue College, a part of the Estonian Academy of Security Sciences. The group consisted of five chemical rescue instructors and three students.
The delegation was welcomed by Col. Tomasz ZWĘGLIŃSKI, DSc Fire Eng., Professor of the Fire University – Vice-Rector for Education and Students, who wished the guests a fruitful visit and an inspiring exchange of experiences.
The visit agenda included:
- a presentation on chemical and ecological rescue within the national fire and rescue system,
- a visit to the Department of Chemical and Ecological Rescue,
- an overview of the operations of the Fire Rescue Unit of the Fire University,
- a visit to the Rescue Training Centre of the Fire University in Nowy Dwór Makowiecki, where the guests observed practical chemical rescue exercises,
- a visit to Fire and Rescue Unit No. 6 in Warsaw.
In addition to their interest in chemical rescue, our Estonian colleagues expressed a strong interest in incident command and leadership training, so part of the visit was dedicated to exchanging experiences in this area as well.
The visit also served as an excellent opportunity to strengthen mutual relations and explore possibilities for future cooperation – both in the field of education and the organization of joint training initiatives.
