From 23 to 27 June 2025, Colonel Dr. Eng. Małgorzata Majder-Łopatka from the Institute of Safety Engineering, Fire Academy, participated in staff mobility under the Erasmus+ programme at the partner institution – the University of Patras (Greece). The mobility was supervised by Professor Yannis Dimakopoulos.
The purpose of the visit was to enhance professional qualifications and establish scientific and research collaboration with the Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Patras in the field of chemical hazards and the detection of hazardous substances.
As part of the mobility, Dr. Eng. Majder-Łopatka delivered lectures in English entitled Detection of Lithium-Ion Cells Decomposition — As Part of the Safety System in the Battery Storage Process. She discussed the application of instrumental methods, including electrochemical sensors and photoionization detectors, in identifying decomposition products of organic electrolytes.
She also took part in a panel discussion on the risks and opportunities associated with the widespread use of plastics, chaired by Dr. George Pasparakis.
The Erasmus+ visit enabled the establishment of direct cooperation with staff from the host institution. It was also an opportunity to become acquainted with the educational and research infrastructure, as well as the teaching methods used at the Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Patras.
