From 6–10 July 2026, 2LT Jakub Biadasiewicz, a lecturer at the Fire University (Akademia Pożarnicza), participated in an Erasmus+ academic staff mobility at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) in Germany.

During the visit, he delivered lectures in the field of fire safety engineering: “Performance-Based Fire Design – Fire Risk Assessment – AAMKS Tool” and “About Fire – Fire Dynamics, Compartment Fire Development, Extinguishing of Fire.”

One of the key elements of the programme was the presentation of AAMKS, an open-source platform developed at the Fire University for probabilistic fire risk assessment in buildings. The tool supports the evaluation of life safety during fire events through multiple simulations of fire development and evacuation scenarios. Discussions also focused on the potential use of AAMKS in future joint research projects and its further development.

As part of the mobility, the participant visited TUM fire laboratories and a fire testing laboratory in Dachau, where fire experiments and certification procedures are carried out under controlled conditions.

The programme also included a visit to Munich Fire Station No. 2, where discussions were held on the use of information technologies and artificial intelligence in emergency response, particularly in support of CBRN operations.

The mobility provided an excellent opportunity to exchange expertise, strengthen academic cooperation between the Fire University and TUM, and discuss future joint educational and research initiatives.
