From 22 to 26 June 2026, PV2 Aleksandra Powęzka participated in an academic mobility programme under Erasmus+ at the Department of Civil Engineering of the University of the Peloponnese in Patras, Greece.
The aim of the visit was to strengthen scientific and educational cooperation, exchange experiences and become familiar with the research potential and organisation of the educational process at the partner institution.
During the visit, the organisational structure and educational offer of the Department of Civil Engineering were presented, including undergraduate and postgraduate studies, as well as doctoral education. The participant observed final diploma examinations of civil engineering students. The examination process focused on structural design and consisted of five stages: three computer-based tests and two written examinations.
The organisation of the educational process based on the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS) was also discussed, with particular emphasis on curriculum development, ECTS credit allocation and the assessment of learning outcomes.
The mobility programme included visits to the concrete laboratory, the International Relations Office, the department administration office, the faculty library and the university campus. These visits provided an opportunity to learn about the research and educational infrastructure, laboratory equipment and the scope of ongoing scientific activities.
An important part of the programme consisted of meetings with academic and administrative staff, enabling the exchange of experiences in the fields of civil engineering, structural safety and educational organisation. The discussions also allowed for identifying potential areas of future scientific cooperation.
The visit contributed to strengthening cooperation between the two universities, establishing new academic contacts and outlining the framework for a joint scientific publication with Dr Denise-Penelope Kotoni, Associate Professor.
