From 16 February to 26 June 2026, student Wojciech Wojsa participated in an Erasmus+ student mobility at the Instituto Politécnico de Castelo Branco (IPCB) in Portugal.
The main objectives of the mobility were to gain new experiences related to studying and living in another country, improve English language skills, learn about Portuguese culture, and establish contacts with students from different countries.
Most of the courses were conducted at the Escola Superior Agrária de Castelo Branco (ESACB), while some subjects were completed at the Escola Superior de Tecnologia de Castelo Branco (ESTCB). The mobility provided an opportunity to learn about the organisation of education at the partner institution and to study in an international academic environment.
During the semester, the student attended courses related to, among others, building safety, cartography, chemical, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) hazards, logistics, wildfires, and technological and environmental hazards. One of the most interesting elements of the programme was the Decision Support Systems course, during which the Simio simulation software was used, as well as the Logistics and Cartography courses.
The ESACB campus made a great impression, as its extensive area includes laboratories, teaching facilities, and numerous green spaces, creating excellent conditions for both studying and relaxation.
The stay in Portugal was also an opportunity to learn about Portuguese culture and everyday life, as well as to exchange experiences with students from many European and non-European countries.
The Erasmus+ mobility contributed to the development of language skills, increased independence, and gaining valuable experience connected with functioning in an international academic environment. It was an important stage of education and another opportunity to represent the Fire University abroad.
