From 8 to 12 May 2026, 1LT Sebastian Staszko PhD Eng., Assistant Professor at the Fire University in Warsaw, participated in a teaching mobility at Universidade Lusófona under the Erasmus+ programme.
During the visit, he had the opportunity to become familiar with the organizational structure of the partner university, its educational offer, as well as its available scientific, research, and training infrastructure. 1LT Sebastian Staszko PhD Eng. also presented the research and teaching potential of the Fire University, including its training capabilities and practical training facilities used in the educational process.
An important part of the mobility involved delivering lectures on the organization of specialized rescue operations, with particular emphasis on chemical and environmental rescue. The classes were addressed to undergraduate and graduate students in the field of civil protection and coordinated by Professor Andre Rodrigues.
The visit created an opportunity for the exchange of teaching experience and good practices with representatives of the partner institution. It also contributed to the development of language, communication, and intercultural competences essential for functioning in an international academic environment.
Furthermore, the mobility enabled participants to learn about the organization and operation of the fire service in Porto, particularly in the area of hazardous materials response. The visit also contributed to establishing valuable professional and academic relationships that may form the basis for further scientific and educational cooperation between the institutions.
