On 2 June 2026, a group of students from the Fire University, accompanied by a representative of the International Cooperation Department, took part in a study visit to Brussels organized within activities promoting the Erasmus+ Programme.
During the visit, participants had the opportunity to explore the European Parliament and learn more about the functioning of one of the European Union’s key institutions, as well as the EU legislative process.
A major highlight of the programme was a visit to the Emergency Response Coordination Centre (ERCC) of the European Commission – the operational hub responsible for coordinating international civil protection and humanitarian assistance under the Union Civil Protection Mechanism (UCPM). Students gained valuable insights into European crisis response systems, operational information-sharing processes, and the importance of international cooperation in civil protection and emergency management.
The visit provided an excellent opportunity to expand knowledge of European safety and security mechanisms, exchange experiences, and promote the Fire University within the international academic community.
We would like to thank the representatives of the European Commission and the European Parliament for hosting our delegation and sharing their expertise.
