The Library of the Fire University is a university-wide organizational unit and a scientific library of a public nature. It is the only library in Poland that possesses the most extensive collection of Polish and foreign literature in the field of fire protection. In addition, the library collects books and journals on ecology, psychology, sociology, organization and management, technical sciences, as well as language dictionaries and lexicons.

Resources of the Fire University Library

The Library collects, catalogues, and makes available monographs and serial publications, both Polish and foreign-language, in the fields of:

  • fire protection,
  • rescue services,
  • civil protection and civil defense,
  • risk management,
  • natural and man-made hazards.

Total number of the Fire University Library’s collections 45420

  • Approximately 40,000 volumes of monographs (including textbooks and lecture notes),
  • 120 audiovisual documents,
  • 300 electronic documents,
  • 2,000 national and international standards,
  • 3,000 annual volumes of Polish and foreign journals.

Fire University Library opening hours:

  • Monday: 8:00 AM – 11:30 AM
  • Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM
  • Wednesday: closed (internal work day)
