On 12–13 January 2026, the Fire University hosted a delegation from the Republic of Moldova for a working visit focused on issues related to education, training, and the functioning of the civil protection and rescue system in Poland.
On 12 January 2026, a presentation on the activities of the Fire University was delivered. The scope of the University’s operations was outlined, including its fields of study, with particular emphasis on educational programmes in the area of rescue services, as well as postgraduate study programmes—especially those related to civil protection and civil defence. The role of the Fire University resulting from the provisions of the Act on Civil Protection and Civil Defence was also presented. In addition, the training courses conducted by the University, the principles for verifying entities authorised to provide training in the field of civil protection and civil defence, and the educational initiatives implemented by the University were discussed. Areas of cooperation with other uniformed-service universities, including joint study programmes, were also presented.
Subsequently, the delegation was introduced to information concerning the State Fire Service and the National Firefighting and Rescue System. A meeting was also held with the Vice-Rector for Education AND Students, COL Tomasz Zwęgliński, D.Sc. Fire Eng., University Professor. The delegation then visited the Fire University Rescue and Firefighting Unit, where solutions applied in the education and training of officer cadets were presented.
On 13 January 2026, the delegation visited the Rescue Training Centre of the Fire University. During the visit, the training infrastructure and the possibilities for conducting practical classes and specialist exercises were presented.
The visit constituted part of activities aimed at exchanging experience and developing international cooperation in the field of civil protection, rescue services, and personnel training, as well as an opportunity to present solutions applied within the Polish firefighting and rescue system.
