On 9–11 December 2025, the Fire University hosted Professor Mečislavas Griškevičius from Vilnius Gediminas Technical University as part of the Erasmus+ academic staff mobility programme.
The purpose of the visit was to familiarise the guest with the activities of the Fire University, its organisational structure, and the system of education for both civilian and uniformed students. The visit also focused on presenting the University’s scientific and research potential, as well as its educational and training infrastructure. An important element of the programme was the exchange of experience and discussions on potential directions for further academic and research cooperation.
The visit programme included, among others:
- a presentation of the role of the Fire University within the State Fire Service and its key responsibilities,
- an overview of the University’s educational offer and study programmes,
- presentations of scientific and research projects implemented at the Fire University,
- meetings and sessions dedicated to the education of uniformed students,
- lectures and presentations covering technical security systems, chemical rescue, medical rescue, hydromechanics and fire water supply, as well as internal security,
- a visit to the Fire University Fire and Rescue Unit.
The programme was delivered with the involvement of the Fire University’s academic and administrative staff, as well as cadet students.
The visit of Professor Mečislavas Griškevičius constituted an important step in strengthening the Fire University’s international cooperation and contributed to the exchange of knowledge and best practices in the fields of safety, civil protection and rescue services.
